Leadership Council

The Leadership Council (LC) is a volunteer, community-elected board that helps guide the vision and well-being of Highlands Church. Together, they support and hold accountable the Executive Team, make decisions that align with our values, and tend to the practical side of being a church so that love can move freely through everything we do.

2023 - 2026
Josh is a Colorado native, Marine veteran, and community builder who leads the Arapahoe County Veteran Services Office. He’s passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and connected. Married to his high school sweetheart for over 25 years, Josh finds joy in family, nature, and deep conversations over coffee—moments where he most often experiences the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Miguel Oliveira

2023 - 2026

Miguel Oliveira has been attending Highlands since 2018, when he moved from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Colorado, and found a place to call home and be his authentic self in our community. A psychologist by trade and certified coach, Miguel has developed his whole career in HR. He lives with his husband Jim. They traveling and exploring new restaurants together.

michael Buckley

2023 - 2026

Michael Buckley is from New England and has been attending Highlands since 2018 where he found love at first sermon. He most appreciates the community covenant as commitments we make to each other. He is happily divorced with zero children, a flag football player, and enjoys a life of meaningful work and ridiculously fun play.

Chelsea Williams

2023 - 2026

Chelsea Williams found Highlands in 2022 and thought it was too good to be true. She loves the way our community walks the walk of loving ALL people. Chelsea manages a bakery at Whole Foods and is an inspiration of positivity to her colleagues and friends. She lives with her cat, Becky, and would probably go for a walk with you.

Scott Wolf

2023 -2026

Scott Wolf has been attending Highlands since the first Sunday service in 2009. He is an educator with Denver Public Schools in his free time when he is not hanging out with his wife, Jamie, and two daughters. His favorite thing about Highlands is its emphasis on inclusion and being welcoming to everyone.

Ean Oliver

2025 - 2028
Ean Oliver is a California transplant who moved to Colorado in 2019. Two truths and a lie: He has died twice, he helped Japanese police capture a criminal, he lives with his husband Russ and two dogs DJ and Agent Phil Coulson in northwest Denver. Ask him next time you see him at Highlands.

Tom Grau

2025 - 2028

Tom Grau has attended Highlands going on 12 years. The ethos is the reason he started attending, and it is the people and the community that keeps him coming back. He is a high school English teacher and instructional coach. His life includes his partner Terry, his puppy Pippin, gardening, art, cooking, travel, and long walks in the early morning.

Ann Rajewski

2025 -2028
Ann Rajewski grew up in Boulder and now lives in Littleton with her husband Joe and son RJ. She started attending in 2022 and loves going to Highlands because of the spacious approach to belief and belonging. Ann has run a small statewide association for nearly 20 years and enjoys the opportunity to discover the best places to eat in many of Colorado’s cities and towns. Lately, her pastimes include perfecting a breadmaker-assisted sourdough loaf, walking dogs, and watching RJ play soccer.

Kristee Paschall

2025 -2028

Kristee Paschall has been part of the Highlands Church community since 2009. She loves that all of us can belong at Highlands. She is a community organizer working to realize a democracy where everyone can thrive. She has three spirited young adults (2 away at college & one in high school), a bountiful garden and chickens.
